Sam Walter Foss summed it up well when he said, “Let me live in my house by the side of the road, let the race of men go by. There are good, there are bad. There are weak among you, and there are strong. There are wise, and foolish – who am I? Then why should I sit in the scorner’s set, or hurl the cynic’s span? Let me live in my house by the side of the road and be friend of all men.”
Henry Ford said, “My best friend is the one who brings out the best in me.” PenteCom wants to be that kind of friend to all mankind.
When Adam fell, Lucifer came to him and convinced him to worship his own opinion. Sin is worshiping one’s own opinion. So what is salvation? Salvation is reinstating God’s opinion as the focus of one’s life. That’s why, in some areas of life, we are not very saved. True worship is letting God’s opinion hold sway in one’s daily life.
Scripture describes Naaman as a great man of courage, honor, and valor. But despite his goodness, despite of his being a “headliner,” and despite his importance to the society of his day, Naaman was a leper. He had financial security, yet still was afflicted with leprosy. No matter how high our position, how successful our accomplishments, or how great our status or financial considerations, we don’t want spiritual leprosy.
Spiritual leprosy has broken out across America like a plague. Leprosy slowly buy ultimately desensitizes. Naaman’s only hope was to get back to the prophet to be cleansed.
The purpose of PenteCom is to regenerate a desensitized generation. The answer is not found in the White House; it’s found in the church house! PenteCom is a wonderful group of vision-minded men who want to share the great Word of Jesus Christ and the Acts 2:38 experience with every spiritual leper we can reach.
