I’m irate.
I’m growing very concerned, and even sick to my stomach over trends I see around me in the world of the Church.
I am a 37 year old pastor who once considered himself to be moderately conservative, but am deeply concerned to know that others around me view me now as ultra conservative.
In a day when my “moderate” views are viewed as the far-right, and those who once were considered liberal becoming the new conservative…
In a day when ministry is placating to the whim and carnality of an adulterous generation…
In a day when churches and pastors appear more concerned about crowds and conversion rates than souls and disciples…
In a day when postmodernism and deconstructionism are supplanting long-held, time-tested Biblical truths and methods…
In a day when sin is overlooked, conviction-preaching is traded for bless-you sermons, and “old-timers” are no longer a voice of reason…
I’m sick to my stomach.
Keep your crowds of itching ears…
Keep your sin-stained garments…
Keep your self-righteous, piety wrapped in the facade of humility…
Keep your honey-dripped, wooing call to slip away from holiness…
Leave me out of it.
Well said, my friend. Well said.
